It was another wonderful year at the Chehalem Mountain Art Affair. With over a dozen artists spread throughout a beautiful piece of wooded property, the vibe was incredible. A perfect setting for a landscape photographer!
The show kicked off Saturday morning under slightly overcast skies. Being so "out of the way" show traffic is always a bit hit or miss and we never know quite what to expect. During the day I met many wonderful people and had some very in-depth discussions about art, photography and the business of art. By the end of the day, I had managed to even sell a couple of pieces! that night we had a wonderful potluck dinner and sat down for the musical entertainment on the outdoor stage. We had 4 groups play for us that night, mainly folk or bluegrass music. A couple of artists from Artichoke Music here in Portland provide some very moving musical experiences. And then the night was capped off by Tuck and Daisy playing a wonderful set.
Sunday started off grey and cold, but we all had high hopes. It was a very busy day and flew by for me. I made more good contacts, sold a few more pieces and had shed my "corporate" weekly life completely to be in the "artist mindset"
I can't thank Larry and Debi Nelson enough for providing the beautiful location and alot of prep work. And, the other artists.....wow what can I say. I couldn't hope to be with a better group of people.
